This bill amends the existing law in North Carolina to require that if a person submitting a report on a car accident knows the crash was caused by the driver suffering a seizure or a hypoglycemic incident, they must specifically include this information in the report. The bill also directs the Division of Motor Vehicles to evaluate whether the reported medical condition affects the driver's ability to safely operate a vehicle and to cancel or restrict the driver's license accordingly, with the driver able to appeal the decision. Furthermore, the bill specifies that accident reports submitted by non-law enforcement or non-medical examiner parties are not public records, while those submitted by law enforcement officers and medical examiners are public records.
