Bill Summary
This bill would allow a municipality to enter into agreements with developers to provide affordable housing occupancy preferences for low and moderate income current residents of the municipality of up to 50 percent of the affordable units in a particular project. Current law does not provide any preference for residents of a municipality for affordable housing located in the municipality. This bill would help residents of a municipality in need of affordable housing to be able to stay in their hometowns.
