This bill amends the Social Welfare Act by adding a new section 13a, which requires the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to cooperate with the Michigan Department of Transportation to promote public awareness about the National Human Trafficking Hotline. This includes displaying awareness signs in high-risk areas such as truck stops, bus stations, train stations, airports, rest stops, establishments with liquor licenses, emergency rooms, urgent care centers, farm labor contractors, privately operated job recruitment centers, and large-scale sporting events. The bill takes effect 90 days after it is enacted into law.
