Bill Summary
Relative to expanding agricultural land
AI Summary
This bill aims to expand the definition of agricultural land for property tax purposes in Massachusetts. It does this by allowing non-contiguous parcels of land under the same ownership, as long as they are within the same municipality or no more than 10 miles from each other, to be considered as part of the total agricultural land. The bill also clarifies that the total agricultural land, including any contiguous or non-contiguous parcels, cannot exceed 100% of the land actively devoted to agricultural or horticultural uses. Additionally, the commercial property tax rate will apply to these agricultural or horticultural lands.
