This bill, the Improving Access to Behavioral Health Information Technology Act, authorizes the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation to test models that provide incentive payments to behavioral health providers for adopting and using certified electronic health record technology. Behavioral health providers eligible for the incentive payments include psychiatric hospitals, community mental health centers, clinical psychologists, clinical social workers, and other hospitals, treatment facilities, and mental health or substance use disorder providers that participate in Medicaid.
