This bill aims to enhance inmate reentry services in Florida. It requires the release orientation program to consist of at least 200 hours of instruction time and to begin at least 360 days prior to an inmate's release. The bill also mandates the Department of Corrections to assist inmates in securing identified basic support services and to notify them of opportunities for industry certifications and job placement in their release community. Additionally, the bill increases the minimum transition course requirement from 100 to 200 hours to better prepare inmates for successful reentry.
