This bill amends the existing Massachusetts state law to provide public employees with at least the same level of workplace safety and health protections as those provided under the federal Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA). It establishes an Occupational Health and Safety Hazard Advisory Board to monitor and recommend safety measures for public employees. The bill also requires the state Department of Labor to promulgate regulations to enforce these new workplace safety requirements for public employers, and gives the Attorney General the authority to enforce the law through civil actions.
