This bill increases the threshold amounts for certain theft offenses, revises the list of items from which theft constitutes grand theft of the third degree, and revises the circumstances under which certain offenses by a person with prior convictions constitute a higher degree felony. Specifically, it raises the value thresholds for grand theft of the third degree from $300 to $1,000 and from $100 to $1,000 for certain theft offenses, expands the list of items that constitute grand theft of the third degree, and increases the penalties for retail theft and theft offenses committed by a person with prior convictions.
