This bill revises the types of funds school districts may withhold before allocating certain Title I funds to eligible schools. The bill allows school districts to withhold funds for administration (up to 8%), as well as for specific programs and services such as homeless, delinquent and neglected programs, prekindergarten, private school equitable services, migrant supplemental services, extended learning opportunities, supplemental academic and enrichment services, family support and parent engagement activities, transportation for foster care children, and the district's approved indirect cost rate. The bill removes the requirement for school districts to reserve 1% of Title I funds for parent involvement.
