This bill amends the Utah Minimum Wage Act to increase the state's minimum wage to $10.25 per hour starting July 1, 2018, and then to $12.00 per hour starting July 1, 2022. The bill also allows the Labor Commission to establish a different minimum wage for minors. Additionally, the bill requires the Commission to post the current minimum wage and cash wage obligation for tipped employees on its website. The bill also places limits on the ability of cities, towns, and counties to establish minimum wages or require contractors to pay wages above the state minimum.
