This bill creates an exemption from public records requirements for the personal identifying information of adults who participate in a prearrest diversion program. The exemption does not apply to the personal identifying information of adults who fail to complete the program. The purpose of this exemption is to protect the privacy of adults in these programs and to encourage their participation by ensuring that their personal information is not publicly disclosed, which could have negative consequences for them. The exemption is subject to review and repeal in 2023 under the Open Government Sunset Review Act.
