AI Summary

This bill expands the crime of human trafficking to include individuals who benefit financially from participating in human trafficking, even if they are not the organizer, supervisor, financier, or manager of the scheme. Under the current law, a person commits the crime of human trafficking if they knowingly hold, recruit, lure, entice, harbor, transport, provide, or obtain another person to engage in sexual activity or provide labor or services through various means of coercion, fraud, or abuse. This bill adds a new provision that makes it a crime to "benefit financially" from such a scheme, even if the person is not directly involved in the organization or management of the trafficking operation.
