This bill revises the law concerning the disposition of assets of a county society for the prevention of cruelty to animals (county society) that has dissolved or had its charter revoked, canceled, or suspended. Specifically, it requires each county society to provide in its bylaws for the disposition of its assets, after paying any outstanding debts, to the Coalition of County SPCAs for distribution to an appropriate entity or entities within the same county with a similar mission of promoting animal welfare. The bill also specifies that the New Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has no claim or authority over the assets of a dissolved or charter-revoked county society.
