This bill revises certain lodging rates for reimbursement to specified employees, authorizes employees to spend their own funds for lodging expenses exceeding $150 per day, and creates a statewide travel management system. The system will be used by executive branch state agencies and the judicial branch to report all public officer and employee travel information, including name, purpose, dates, location, mode of travel, and total costs. The bill also requires local governments, school districts, state colleges and universities, and water management districts to report on the system for all travel resulting in an overnight stay. The Department of Management Services will make the travel reports publicly available by November 2019. The bill provides an appropriation and positions to the Department of Management Services to implement the statewide travel management system.
