This bill makes the following key changes: 1. It increases the number of years a cancer center can participate in Tier 3 of the Florida Consortium of National Cancer Institute Centers Program from 5 to 6 years, and allows a Tier 3 cancer center to pursue NCI designations for 6 years after qualification, up from 5 years. 2. It removes the Agency for Health Care Administration's authority to establish an alternative methodology to the DRG-based prospective payment system to set reimbursement rates for Class III psychiatric hospitals. 3. It authorizes the agency to seek remedies, including fines, from any intermediate care facility for the developmentally disabled provider that fails to report its total number of resident days monthly. 4. It modifies the nursing home reimbursement methodology, including increasing the percentage of median costs used for direct care costs and the quality incentive payment pool. 5. It requires the Agency for Health Care Administration to seek authorization to modify the period of retroactive Medicaid eligibility from 90 days to 30 days. 6. It directs the agency to contract with an additional nonprofit organization to serve as a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) site in Miami-Dade County.
