This bill revises the statutory distribution of motor vehicle fines that are collected for tickets issued by the State Police. Currently, all motor vehicle fine, penalty, and forfeiture moneys generated through tickets written by the State Police are paid to the State Treasurer and available for general State purposes. This bill provides that two-thirds of those motor vehicle fine, penalty, and forfeiture moneys are to be paid to the State and the remaining one-third is to be paid to the municipality in which the violation occurred.
