This bill adds a new section to Idaho law to create the Children and Families Legal Services Fund. The fund will consist of appropriations from the legislature and grants, donations, and other sources. The fund will be administered by the Idaho Supreme Court and used to provide legal representation to low-income families and children in civil matters related to domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and neglect, and senior abuse and exploitation. The bill also specifies that the funds cannot be used for certain types of cases, such as class action lawsuits, criminal cases, or representation of undocumented persons. Idaho Legal Aid Services is required to provide an annual report to the legislature on the expenditure of these funds.
