This bill adds a new section to the Idaho code to provide an exemption for the lawful use and possession of cannabidiol oil, a product containing primarily cannabidiol and trace amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). The bill allows individuals and parents of minors suffering from certain medical conditions to possess and use cannabidiol oil if they have a signed statement from a licensed practitioner indicating that the individual or minor may benefit from such treatment. The bill also provides civil and criminal immunity for practitioners who sign such statements in good faith and with reasonable care. Additionally, the bill contains an emergency clause and a provision for the repeal of the new sections if the U.S. Congress decriminalizes cannabidiol oil.
