This bill expands the prohibition on the use of pesticides containing anticoagulants in California. It prohibits the use of any pesticide containing an anticoagulant, except when the local health authority determines there is an emergency pest infestation that poses a threat to public health or could cause significant economic damage, and the county agricultural commissioner determines the use of an anticoagulant pesticide is necessary to address the emergency. The bill also exempts the use of pesticides by government agencies for public health activities and by mosquito or vector control districts. Additionally, it expands the existing exemption for agricultural activities to include more locations where rodent or pest control is needed for food safety or agricultural purposes.
