This bill directs the Department of Health, in coordination with the Division of Emergency Management and local emergency management agencies, to maintain a statewide registry of persons with special needs. It requires nursing homes, assisted living facilities, home health agencies, and nurse registries to have an emergency management plan and conduct staff training. The bill also reassigns responsibility from the Department of Health to the Agency for Health Care Administration for establishing and maintaining an online database for licensees providing residential or inpatient services to report information regarding emergency status, planning, and operations. Additionally, the bill requires licensees to provide for the continuation of services under emergency conditions.
