National Security Commission Artificial Intelligence Act of 2018
AI Summary
This bill establishes the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence, an independent commission within the executive branch tasked with reviewing the advances in artificial intelligence (AI), related machine learning developments, and associated technologies. The Commission will assess the competitiveness of the United States in AI, means to maintain a technological advantage, international cooperation and competitiveness, research and development initiatives, workforce and education incentives, risks associated with military use of AI, ethical considerations, and other matters related to national security. The Commission will submit an initial report within 180 days and comprehensive annual reports thereafter until its termination on October 1, 2020.
