Each center must carry out specified outreach activities and specified treatment and recovery services.

AI Summary

This bill amends the Public Health Service Act to require the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to award grants to establish or operate comprehensive opioid recovery centers. These centers must provide a range of outreach activities, treatment, and recovery services, including medications approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat substance use disorders, medically supervised detoxification, counseling, residential and outpatient programs, recovery housing, job training, and other evidence-based practices. The bill requires the centers to report data to HHS on their programs, health outcomes, and effectiveness, and directs HHS to submit preliminary and final reports to Congress evaluating the centers and making recommendations on whether the grant program should be reauthorized and expanded.
