This bill, the PFAS Registry Act, directs the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to establish and maintain a registry for individuals who may have been exposed to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) due to the environmental release of aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF) on military installations. The registry will collect and monitor information on the health effects of PFAS exposure on members of the Armed Forces. The bill requires the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to submit two reports to Congress: an initial report on the effectiveness of actions taken to collect and maintain PFAS exposure information, and recommendations to improve it, as well as a follow-up report to assess the registry's content and currency. Additionally, the Secretary must periodically notify eligible individuals, defined as those who served or are serving in the Armed Forces on a military installation where AFFF was used, about significant developments in the study and treatment of PFAS-related conditions.
