This bill amends the US criminal code to enhance penalties for certain offenses committed while in disguise, including while wearing a mask. Specifically, the bill creates a new offense of "Interference with protected rights while in disguise," which carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison for anyone, whether acting under color of law or not, who injures, oppresses, threatens, or intimidates another person in the exercise of their constitutional or legal rights while in disguise. The bill also adds a 2-year sentence enhancement for anyone who wears a disguise, including a mask, while committing the offense of destroying buildings or property within special maritime and territorial jurisdiction.
