This bill, the Veteran Empowerment and Training to Facilitate Agricultural Revitalization and Mobilization (VET-2-FARM) Act of 2018, amends the Department of Agriculture Reorganization Act of 1994 to require the Military Veterans Agricultural Liaison to provide outreach to veterans about agricultural employment opportunities, including apprenticeships, on-the-job training, and education programs approved for veterans' benefits. The bill also requires the Liaison to establish and maintain a website with information on these opportunities, and to regularly review the website's effectiveness. Additionally, the bill requires the Secretary of Agriculture to provide annual reports to Congress on the positions available within the Department for veteran apprenticeships, the Department's partnerships with the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs to identify career skills programs, and the information the Department is disseminating to agricultural entities about hiring and training veterans.
