This bill, the Disabled Veterans Rebuilding Infrastructure to Vitalize our Economy Act, aims to amend the FAST Act to improve contracting opportunities for service-connected disabled veteran-owned small business concerns. It does this by: 1) Defining "service-connected disabled veteran-owned small business concern" using the same definition as the Small Business Act. 2) Requiring that not less than 10% of the funds under the FAST Act be expended through such service-connected disabled veteran-owned small business concerns, and to the maximum extent practicable, not less than 5% shall be expended through these businesses. 3) Ensuring that service-disabled veterans are included as a category of disadvantaged individuals to be considered for FAST Act contracting opportunities. The goal of this bill is to provide more government contracting opportunities for small businesses owned and controlled by service-connected disabled veterans, in order to help rebuild infrastructure and support the economy.
