Addressing Threats to the United States by the Government of Iran

AI Summary: This regulation imposes an additional ad valorem duty on goods imported into the United States that are products of any country that directly or indirectly purchases, imports, or otherwise acquires any goods or services from Iran. The Secretary of Commerce will determine if a foreign country is engaging in such transactions with Iran, and if so, the Secretary of State, in consultation with other officials, will determine whether and to what extent the additional duty should be imposed. This action is taken to address the continuing unusual and extraordinary threat posed by the Government of Iran to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States, building upon previous executive orders that declared and expanded upon a national emergency related to Iran. The order also outlines authorities for modification, monitoring, and delegation of these measures, and provides definitions for key terms such as "goods or services from Iran," "indirectly," "Iran," and "Government of Iran."
