This bill would establish a fair and equitable system of revenue sharing for the commercial, industrial and recreational use and management of Maine's coastal resources that ensures a direct benefit to the communities most affected by the use of those resources and that promotes statewide economic growth. The bill would establish a standardized fee and royalty schedule for the use of those resources based on the type and scale of activities conducted and a formula for the distribution of the revenue generated, with a portion of the funds to be retained by the State to support the administration, enforcement and oversight of coastal resource activities and a portion of the funds to be distributed to affected communities and stakeholders. Under the bill, collection of established fees and royalties and distribution of that revenue would be administered and overseen by a statutorily established revenue sharing board consisting of representatives from state agencies, municipal governments and other stakeholders. | In Committee |

LD1273 | An Act to Make Paid Family and Medical Leave Voluntary | Part A of this bill repeals the provisions in law that established the paid family and medical leave benefits program. The commissioner is required to issue the request for proposals no later than January 1, 2026, and voluntary paid family and medical leave coverage must be available for purchase no later than January 1, 2027. This age requirement was increased from 25 years old to 35 years old in Public Law 2023, chapter 634. The bill requires a person registering an antique auto to show proof of registration and insurance for the motor vehicle used as that person's primary mode of transportation of passengers or goods and maintain the registration and insurance for that motor vehicle or a replacement motor vehicle during the term of registration of the antique auto.
