This bill prohibits municipalities from considering the value or cost of constructing or improving a residential dwelling when determining the amount of building permit and inspection fees. It also prohibits municipalities from requiring the disclosure of such information as a condition of obtaining a building permit, except as required for participation in the National Flood Insurance Program. The bill applies to building permit or inspection fees assessed by a municipality on or after the effective date of the Act, which is either immediately if it receives the necessary vote or on September 1, 2019.
