This bill amends the Education Law to allow the city school district of the city of Syracuse to implement a pilot program for up to five school years, beginning in the 2019-2020 school year, to provide transportation services for children residing in the district and attending kindergarten through grade five who live one mile or more from the school they legally attend. The transportation services would be provided to and from the children's homes or before/after-school childcare locations, up to a distance of 15 miles. The school district is required to submit a report on the results of the first four years of the pilot program, including cost and benefit analysis and the impact on student attendance and academic performance.
