This bill amends the Public Health Law to require that payment rates for services provided by rural hospitals designated as "critical access hospitals" under the federal Social Security Act be set at 101% of the reasonable costs of providing such services. For facilities without adequate cost experience, the rates will be based on budgeted costs subsequently adjusted to 101% of reasonable actual costs. The implementation of these provisions is subject to the appropriation of specific funding.
