This bill amends the Insurance Code to provide a one-time opportunity for certain retirees who are eligible for Medicare to reenroll in the Texas Public School Employees Group Insurance Program. The retirees must have voluntarily terminated their initial enrollment between January 1, 2018, and January 1, 2020, and they must opt to reenroll by December 31, 2023. The Teacher Retirement System of Texas is required to adopt rules to implement this provision by November 1, 2019, and the rules must apply regardless of whether the retiree's termination occurred before, on, or after the effective date of the rules or the bill.
