This bill requires social media platform operators to provide a warning message every time a user accesses their social media account, stating that "Social media use is addictive. Excessive use of mobile devices and social media platforms may lead to mental health disorders, reduced productivity, lack of sleep, and social alienation." The bill also requires retail dealers of mobile devices to provide a similar warning to purchasers in Minnesota. The Attorney General is tasked with enforcing this law, which takes effect on January 1, 2020.
