This bill provides $375,000 in funding for fiscal years 2020 and 2021 to the Commissioner of Higher Education for immediate transfer to College Possible, a program that supports college admission and graduation for low-income students through intensive coaching and support at both the high school and postsecondary level. The funding must be proportionately allocated between students from greater Minnesota and the seven-county metropolitan area, and can only be used for programs supporting Minnesota residents attending colleges or universities within the state. College Possible must report annually on the activities funded by this appropriation, including information on program expansion, coaches hired, partnerships, and the number of students served.
