This bill appropriates $375,000 in fiscal years 2020 and 2021 from the general fund to the commissioner of higher education for transfer to College Possible, a non-profit organization that provides college admission and graduation support programs for low-income students in Minnesota. The funding must be allocated proportionately between students from greater Minnesota and the seven-county metropolitan area, and can only be used to support programs for Minnesota residents attending colleges or universities within the state. College Possible must report annually on the use of the funds, including information on program expansion, staffing, partnerships, and the number of students and community service hours served.
