This bill amends the labor law to provide certain protections for employees whose positions are eliminated due to privatization, reorganization, closure, or workforce reduction, and who are subsequently transferred to a different state agency. The key provisions are: 1) the employee will receive the same hourly salary as previously if the new position is at the same or higher grade level; 2) the employee will retain all accrued sick leave; 3) the employee will retain, cash out, or use accrued vacation leave; and 4) the hiring agency must pay the employee's relocation expenses.
