This bill removes references to gravity knives as a dangerous weapon from certain provisions of the New York Penal Law relating to firearms and other dangerous weapons. Specifically, it removes gravity knives from the list of prohibited weapons under the law, including in definitions of "deadly weapon" and "automatic knife". The bill also removes the presumption that the presence of a gravity knife in an automobile is evidence of possession by its occupants. Additionally, it removes the exception allowing possession of gravity knives for hunting, trapping, or fishing purposes.
