Bill Summary

Relative to testing persons convicted of sexual assault for the HIV virus. Public Health.

AI Summary

This bill requires individuals convicted of certain sexual assault crimes to undergo HIV testing within 14 days of their conviction. The results of the testing must be made available to the convicted individual as well as the victim of the crime. The bill also stipulates that the convicted individual cannot be eligible for parole, work release, education release, or transfer to any facility except a maximum or medium security facility until the testing is completed. If the individual refuses to submit to the testing, they can be held in contempt of court and may have their sentence revoked or revised.
