This bill establishes a local cost-share assistance account in the local road improvement fund to provide grants to cities, towns, and counties to help pay for the local share of trunk highway projects. It also appropriates $100 million to the commissioner of transportation to match federal funds and replace or rehabilitate local deficient bridges, and $100 million for construction and reconstruction of local roads with statewide or regional significance and grants to assist counties with rural road safety projects. The bill authorizes the commissioner of management and budget to sell and issue up to $200 million in state bonds to provide the appropriated funds.
