This bill aims to empower patients and entrepreneurs with real transparency on healthcare costs. It requires the Center for Health Information and Analysis (CHIA) to annually release various healthcare data, including payment and utilization information for the 100 most common inpatient stays, data on the 10 most expensive inpatient and outpatient procedures, physician and other healthcare professional utilization and payment data, and information on the 100 most commonly prescribed drugs and the 10 most expensive drugs. The data must be made available to the public in a raw but usable form on CHIA's website, and CHIA may also incorporate the data into its consumer health information website.
