This bill creates the Massachusetts Board of Public Safety Building Authority, an independent public authority that will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and construction of public safety facilities in the Commonwealth. The authority will consist of the state treasurer, who will serve as the chairperson, the secretary of administration and finance in coordination with the secretary of public safety, and four additional members appointed by the state treasurer, two of whom will have experience in public safety facilities planning, school building construction, or public safety building design, and two of whom will have demonstrated knowledge of Massachusetts public safety and other relevant federal and state public safety standards. The members will serve two-year terms.
