This bill amends the existing law to require that any agreement or contract for the cleaning and maintenance of public buildings or rented spaces by state departments, offices, commissions, or authorities must include a stipulation requiring prescribed rates of wages, as determined by the commissioners, to be paid to the employees of the maintenance or cleaning contractor. Additionally, the bill requires that any solicitation for such contracts must include specific information, such as a statement of required hours, a worksheet for the breakdown of the cost components of the hourly proposed rate, and a provision for annual adjustments to the contract price to reflect increases in wage and benefits requirements.
