This bill amends the Public Health Law to: 1. Extend the general hospital indigent care pool and Medicaid Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) payments to eligible general hospitals, including major public general hospitals, from April 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020 and each calendar year thereafter. 2. Authorize the Commissioner of Health to make adjustments to Medicaid rates for enhanced safety net hospitals and qualified safety net hospitals to support critically needed health care services and ensure their continued operation. 3. Provide additional Medicaid payments to public general hospitals, including those operated by the state, to support their services for Medicaid and uninsured patients. The bill aims to support the financial stability and continued operation of safety net and public hospitals that serve a large volume of Medicaid and uninsured patients.
