This bill amends the education law to allow students enrolled in approved postsecondary education experience or transition programs to receive financial assistance from the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). The bill defines these programs as those that serve students with intellectual disabilities, provide individual supports and services for their academic and social inclusion, focus on academic enrichment, socialization, independent living skills, and integrated work experiences, and are federally approved. The bill requires the Commissioner of Education to promulgate rules and regulations to implement this change.
