This bill amends the tax law to provide a tax credit to certain landowners who allow snowmobile access on their property in the form of a state-funded snowmobile trail or portion thereof. The credit amounts to 10 cents per linear foot of the trail on the eligible property, with a maximum credit of $750 per year. The credit can be carried over to the following 10 taxable years or, alternatively, the landowner can choose to receive the excess as a refund. The bill is effective for taxable years beginning on or after January 1 of the year following the date it becomes law.
