This bill prohibits the service of process related to residential evictions during a declared state of emergency, and provides immunity from liability for those who fail to serve or execute such documents during the emergency period. It also requires courts to stay any eviction proceedings under these circumstances. The bill defines the "emergency declaration period" as the time stated in the emergency declaration, any extensions, and 15 days after the expiration of the declaration. The bill takes effect on July 1, 2020.
