This bill establishes an educational program related to the prevention of anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, and discrimination based on religion, race, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression. The New York State Department of Education will contract with an outside expert organization to develop age-appropriate curriculum resources, lesson plans, and instructional materials for students, parents, and school personnel. The program will include guidelines and methods for prevention, as well as information on how to report incidents of such discrimination. The materials will be made available in several languages on the Department's website.
