This bill establishes an educational program related to the prevention of anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, and discrimination based on religion, race, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression. The New York State Department of Education will contract with an outside entity with expertise in these areas to develop age-appropriate model curriculum, instructional resources, and tools for students, parents, and school personnel. The program will focus on guidelines and methods for prevention, recognizing warning signs, and reporting incidents of such discrimination. The materials will be made publicly available on the Department's website in multiple languages.
