This bill exempts small businesses that register under "The Public Works Contractor Registration Act," P.L.1999, c.238 (C.34:11-56.48 et seq.) to bid on public works projects from the requirement that they participate in a registered apprenticeship program. Under current law, all contractors are required to participate in a registered apprenticeship program under "The Public Works Contractor Registration Act" to be eligible for public works contracts.
