This bill establishes the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program, which will provide grants to states to address cybersecurity risks and threats to information systems of state, local, tribal, or territorial governments. The bill requires states to develop a cybersecurity plan to be approved by the Secretary of Homeland Security before receiving a grant. The grants can be used to enhance cybersecurity preparedness, implement vulnerability assessments, promote best practices, develop the cybersecurity workforce, and improve information sharing and coordination. The bill also requires the development of a Homeland Security Strategy to Improve the Cybersecurity of State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial Governments and provides additional responsibilities to the Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency to support state and local cybersecurity efforts.
